Types of Magic
There are several types of magic, and most of these types can be broken down into different aspects or styles, which will be further discussed in the individual articles.
However, attempting to solidly categorize magic is difficult, as the different types of magic can influence each-other. For example, a mage who has Summoning and Enchantment can summon useful objects enchanted to respond to him. A mage who has Summoning and Fire Magic can summon a fire elemental. However, the first mage cannot summon an elemental, and the second mage cannot enchant objects to be summoned. Therefore, the ways in which magic interact can be extremely personalized.
It should also be noted that a sufficiently clever mage can use one type of magic to immitate the effect of another. A shield made of solid rock using Elemental Magic is as effective as one made with a low skill in Shielding; a moving shield can create effects similar to Force Magic. Creativeness is encouraged.
